Once again this animation brought me to tears. After being on our screens at Christmas for the best part of a month as the BBC ident before it’s star appearance on the big day, it turned up unexpectedly today, Easter Monday, at 6pm. The tale of the little boy lost and finding love and wisdom in his animal companions with lots of heart-warming messaging watches well on the screen and reads well in this book form. I can imagine children up and down the country asking their parents for this beautifully illustrated work and it being a recurrent bedtime story request. And frankly as a parent who values positive encouragement in a miserable world, the choice might not necessarily be theirs.
Readers of this blog of a certain age will recall that Bank Holiday’s used to be exclusively preserved for Disney Time and a Carry On Film. If this programme becomes a staple it won’t be a bad thing. And by buying this item here : https://amzn.to/40X1oGO you can keep the magic going all year round.
